A place to write about what I’m doing

I’ve been told I should start a blog for a while, but i always put it off because I didn’t think I could keep up with it, or that people would read it.

But I figure at this point, I might as well try and write stuff down. I’m terrible at keeping notes for my own sake, and maybe this might help me fix that.

goals

• Build a private cloud computing environment to run my home services, powered entirely by free and open source software (to the best of my reasonable ability)
  • To the best of my ability, and with reasonable compromises for some freemium offerings
• Self-hosted as much as possible
• Platform/provider agnostic
• learn multiple programming languages

Platform

• Blogging in markdown on git
  • Right now obsidian notes, but I’m not sold
    • But I’ll admit I’m liking it a lot after banging my head against it a lot
  • Probably static site generator backend. Something like Jekyll or something

Dev env

• latitude & code-server LXC & Chromebook & shit
• Really platform agnostic
• CoreOS!
  • Bluefin laptops
